So we’re in the middle of LFW, Jaeger London have wowed us with their minimalism talent, Temperley with their stunning pieces (and Hilary Alexander and Bazaar walking out!), Jonathan Saunders with his colourful prints, the return of the Parka from Vera Wang and even Vivienne Westwood with a good collection! And of course, Philip Lim – we salute you. (Or should I say ‘I’?)
Yesterday I attended the Fabryan show — an up and coming designer with fabulous talent for occasionwear. The collection appeared to love purple and black, with cutting edge design and innovative styling. The show was great, with new brands also showcasing at the event pre-show too! In my pleated skirt, ankle socks and sandals – let’s just say I was freezing.
Last week I went to Pure London, the trade show. We listened to the WGSN Trend Edits, had a browse at all the latest collections, then went for cocktails at The Sanderson with some friends — perfect day! Lorna Hall, head of retail at WGSN is so inspiring it’s untrue!
Aquascutum and Burberry Prorsum were my faves of today – sleek and chic, but definitely fashion forward and totally fabulous! Christopher Bailey was once again a hero as he put neons down the catwalk, then showed us his minimal side with black, white and camel! As did Aquascutum, minimalistic with colour = YES.
I’m loving AW already – minimal IS the key — I’ve been saying it for years! I’ve also loved the colour blocking this season so far; Saturday night I wore my navy COS dress, with my new bright orange shoes, nothing like mixing it up!
